The Story

Hello
My name is Ketty Aromorach, Founder and Executive Director of WomenRise Uganda , a community based organization working to empower women, girls and vulnerable communities in Nwoya District through health advocacy, economic empowerment, digital inclusion, mentorship and protection.

I founded WomenRise because I believe women and girls should have the opportunity to live healthy, empowered and dignified lives, regardless of their circumstances.

Today, I am asking you to join us in addressing an issue that affects thousands of girls in our communities but is often overlooked: menstrual dignity.

Menstrual Dignity is a Right

For many girls in Nwoya District, getting their monthly period can mean missing school, feeling ashamed, or facing difficult choices simply because they do not have access to adequate and decent menstrual hygiene products.

No girl should have to miss class because she cannot afford a sanitary pad.

This is why WomenRise Uganda is implementing the WomenRise Pad Bank Project an initiative designed to ensure that girls can access essential menstrual hygiene supplies with dignity whenever they need them.

In Phase One, we aim to establish Pad Banks in 20 schools across Nwoya District, reaching approximately 2,000 schoolgirls. The Pad Banks will provide sanitary pads, panties and panty liners, alongside designated changing spaces where girls can manage their periods safely and privately.

This is more than providing sanitary pads. It is about helping girls stay in school, participate confidently in class, protect their dignity and continue pursuing their dreams without menstruation becoming a barrier to their education.

Our First Fundraising Goal: UGX 5,000,000

Through this campaign, we are seeking to raise our first UGX 5,000,000 toward the implementation of the Pad Bank Project.

Our overall Phase One project budget is UGX 80,000,000, and this campaign represents an important first step in mobilizing the resources needed to reach 2,000 girls in 20 schools.

WomenRise Uganda will cover the administrative costs of the project, allowing funds raised through this campaign to focus on supporting girls and establishing the Pad Banks.

Will You Join Us?

Our first goal is UGX 5,000,000. Together, we can reach it.
